MapQuest For the Subway?

Mapquest for the subway? Not exactly but it’s a similar concept.

It’s called Hopstop This is a new free website that offers online bus and subway directions for NYC and other major cities.

You can enter the location that you will be starting from and the address of where you want to go and Voila, you will have directions via Subway, Bus or Walking. It’s a great tool to use when you don’t know where your going and you don’t have time to call the NYC Transit Authority and wait to speak to someone for directions.

Hopstop also offers Maps, City Guides and they rate the Transit Systems by Bus, Subway and even the Ferry. You can post your own rating also.

Check out Hopstop and let us know what you think of it! Post your Comments.

If you have any other suggestions or recommendations that you would like to share with us, Email us at: blog@dynamicmetromoms.com

We would love to hear from you!

Rachel Ray Show

Hello Moms,

I am home today nursing a cold. What better way to feel better than to eat junk food and watch T.V.

While flipping channels, I came across the first Rachel Ray Show, which comes on ABC Channel 7 at 10:00 a.m. (if you live in New York City)

The show is great! Rachel makes you feel like you are her friend, in her living room enjoying the show.

She decorated the set herself by purchasing a lot of the furniture and other items on the set, which is set up like an apartment.

The audience sits on a spinning platform, so they can see everything Rachel does while moving throughout the “apartment”

I signed up for tickets, of course. If you love Rachel Ray, sign up for the tickets.
I put down two of my mom friends to be my guests to attend the show as a surprise, so I hope we get to go.

Rachel cooked a 7 Minute Meal and talked about her Fall Favorites. Rachel also gave an expectant mom who watched the show from her home, a $250 Gift Card to shop for her baby at a major retail baby store. Way to Go Rachel!

The website has some cool features and you can learn to make a quick snack and get the grocery list for the “What’s For Dinner” Segment.

Oprah will be on tomorrow’s show, so don’t miss it!

Obviously, I give the Rachel Ray Show, The Dynamic Metro Moms Seal of Approval ****

Parenting 101

I’ve always enjoyed reading about astrological signs and human behavior. I thought moms would enjoy this article which tells you the type of parent you could be based on your astrological sign. Enjoy the article!

As your kids get ready to start a new school year, are you feeling like you could use a class in parenting?

Unfortunately, babies don’t come into this world equipped with a guide called, “How to Raise This Child.” Granted, experienced grandparents are often close at hand to help out, and there are plenty of books published every year on this subject by qualified child psychologists. Some of these books are excellent.

Still, new parents who try to follow their advice to the letter often find themselves in a quandary, because every baby, every child, and every teenager is not like any other.

Every individual is unique, for better or for worse, and no matter how many siblings, children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren – or, in the case of psychologists, patients – any person has experienced, none will be exactly like any other.
